An inquisitive Scorpio? An organised Virgo? Or perhaps you’re an adventurous Aries? If you’ve been googling things like “what is my sun sign?” or 333 angel number meaning, you’re probably been looking for signs. Your wish is our command! Here are the destinations you should visit, based on your zodiac sign.
Aries – An adventurous foodie
Located a little over 46 miles from Cusco, at 2,430 metres above sea level, you’ll find one of the world’s most famous archaeological sites. These Inca ruins are a UNESCO World Heritage Site that should be on everyone’s bucket list. You can easily reach the attraction by train from Cusco or by vehicle from the capital (the distance from Lima to Machu Picchu is 503 km in a straight line). Or you can choose adventure and take one of the three Inca trails and hike your way to the famous citadel. It’s no secret that Peru is one of the world’s leading culinary destinations, so stop by Machu Picchu restaurant Tinkuy when you’re done exploring.
It’s an amazing place to visit all year round, but we recommend going in April and May after the rainy period. The site tends to get crammed with tourists in July and August, so you might want to avoid that period. Heads up, the Machu Picchu elevation is real, with many experiencing altitude sickness as they reach the top. But it’s worth it!
Taurus – A lover of the finer things in life, good food and good company
Ruled by Venus – the planet of love and beauty – Taurus likes to travel in style yet prefers comfort to rough it up. Honestly, it’s only fair that we recommend Costa Rica.
Stretched between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, the Central American country hosts many beautiful beaches, volcanos, national parks and rainforests. Choose from the many eco-friendly luxury resorts and indulge in an all-inclusive beach vacation. Whether you’re travelling with family, friends, your partner or on your own, this country is bound to blow your mind
Gemini – Loves good company and immersing in a culture
The 17th-century capital of the Hague is a breathtaking city whose canal belt is recognised as a UNESCO Heritage Site. The city is perfect for the culture lover Gemini with its classical museums, galleries and historical buildings. Well known as one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world, the opportunity to explore the city by bike will appeal to the dynamic twin sign. Amsterdam is also well-connected to the rest of Europe, with direct trains from many other European capitals (the train ride from London to Amsterdam is less than four hours!) or by air, with Schiphol airport only nine km from the city.
Cancer – Loves fine hotels and mouth-watering cuisines
Cancers are the signs that enjoy settling in front of a fire while drinking a warm drink. Known as the city of hygge (meaning cosy), Copenhagen is the place for them. Denmark’s capital city is a must-see destination, offering noteworthy cuisine, impressive architecture and beautiful landscape.
Enjoy long days and warm weather during the summer months as you stroll along the canals. Or visit Tivoli Gardens – the third-oldest operating amusement park in the world – for a fun day out. Visit during the winter months for that picturesque snowy postcard views of Christmas markets, twinkly lights and hot glögg. With Copenhagen flights being affordable, what else do you need?
Leo – Loves a good party
What better place than New Orleans for a Leo’s next adventure? The Big Easy, renowned for jazz music, nightlife and Creole cuisine, is a one-of-a-kind destination. Just strolling around the city, with its 17th French architecture, will make you fall in love with the vibrant city.
Located on a bend of the Mississippi river, it’s a haven for live music. As the birthplace of American jazz, you can attend the annual jazz festival to immerse in melodic tunes. But the city is so lively that you can spot jazz musicians playing on the streets every day. If you are planning to visit during the ever-famous Mardi Gras, plan ahead and be ready to party the night away on Bourbon Street – perhaps the famous street in New Orleans. Enjoy a glass of Sazerac – a New Orleans classic originating in the city when you’re there. And before you leave the cultural town, indulge in some tasty gumbo, jambalaya and boiled crawfish
Virgo – Likes practicality and tidiness
Virgos also like to plan and prefer a destination where they can immerse themselves in a culture, so a planned trip to Bali is what we recommend.
One of more than 17,000 islands in the Indonesian archipelago, Bali is a magical location brimming with culture, community and nature. It makes for the perfect holiday for the super-organized Virgo, with plenty of activities to choose from and book in advance, like luxurious spa treatments, volcano excursions, hiking and festivals.
Libra – A lover of romance, style, art and beauty
This is your sign to look for flights to Venice, Italy! For the Venus-ruled sign of Libra, a trip to Venice is a must. Nestled in the northeast of Italy, built on just over 100 islands, it is one of the world’s most unique and picturesque cities. Exploring the history, wealth and art of the floating city will appeal to the Libras, as will a romantic stroll alongside the canals or a ride on a traditional gondola.
Scorpio – Enjoys spending time in nature
Scorpio has an inquisitive nature. Pair that with their love of solo travel and their need for exploration, and you have Joshua Tree – the perfect travel destination.
Located in south-eastern California, this National Park is known for craggy rock formations, desert landscapes and the Joshua tree. It’s a unique landscape where two desert ecosystems, the Mojave and Colorado, meet. If you love being out and about – it’s the perfect spot for solo hiking, biking, or horseback riding. Don’t forget to get your Joshua tree national park map before you jet off. The park is located only a couple of hours’ drive from Los Angeles but can only be accessed by three main routes: Yucca Valley, Twentynine Palms and Cottonwood Springs.
Sagittarius – Is wild, fun, independent and a social butterfly
Known as the biggest metropolis in the world, in Tokyo, you can experience the culture, food (hello Tokyo sushi), art, fashion, anime and history all in one. From the Imperial Palace Gardens and Sensoji temples to futuristic neighbourhoods with neon lights and top-notch technology, Tokyo is a blend of ultra-modernity and tradition. If you can’t get enough of Japan, head to other cities like Osaka for more exploring.
Capricorn – Meticulous, curious, and loves visiting historical cities
Amongst one of the oldest cities in the world, London has plenty of things to offer, from iconic attractions and hidden treasures to green spaces and buzzing nightlife. For the more inquisitive Capricorn who likes to discover how things are created, the plethora of free museums will satisfy their curiosity. Easily reachable by plane with five airports with direct connections from all over the world, London is one of the most visited cities in the world and one you’ll keep returning to.
Aquarius – Loves to travel off the beaten path and discover new places.
Uluru-Kata Tjuta, also known as Ayers rocks, is a World Heritage National Park in Australia. Located in the southwest area of the Northern Territory, Uluru is a 5-hour drive from Alice Springs and about half an hour’s drive from Yulara. According to aboriginal culture, the immense monolith was created by ancestral beings during Dreamtime, the foundation of Aboriginal religion and culture. Make sure to stop by the Uluru cultural centre to learn about the Anangu culture, traditions, songs and stories. Though famous for its striking red colour, it changes hue as the light hits the rock at sunrise or slowly disappears at sunset. Mesmerising!.
Pisces – Romantics and ocean babies
The Republic of Seychelles, an archipelago consisting of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, is a dream. Its white sandy beaches, warm crystal-clear water, coral reefs and stunning sunset views make for the perfect romantic escape or laidback getaway. Known for its luxurious resorts with bungalows overlooking the lagoon, Seychelles makes for the ideal honeymoon destination. But don’t let that scare you – solo travellers will love it too.
