Africa Fashion Week London is the largest annual African fashion event in Europe. The fashion show took place on the 8-9 of October in central London, attracting fashion enthusiasts to a spectacular event.
What if I told you that there’s another fashion event in town worth knowing about other than London Fashion Week? Africa Fashion Week London 2022took place for the 11th time during Black History Month UK at Freemasons Hall in Covent Garden. For two days, the general public gathered to admire collections from nearly 30 designers and over 45 exhibitors.
The annual event saw attendees show up in striking African print dresses and other stylish statement pieces, boldly expressing their style. Two rooms inside the large building were occupied by exhibitor brands selling African-inspired items, such as apparel, accessories, footwear and hair and beauty products.
On the second floor, a long catwalk was set up with speakers playing afrobeat as the models strutted down the runway. Guests with VIP tickets were able to attend the three shows on Saturday and the final show – the people’s catwalk – on Sunday. Hollywood actor and Emmy-nominated producer Anthony Anderson, known for his leading role on hit shows Black-ish and Law & Order made an appearance on the runway wearing X.
